Humanities and Social Sciences Research

The faculty seeks to pioneer exciting new approaches to research and innovation in tackling major global challenges and achieve success in international rankings and the UK Research Excellence Framework. We provide a common extensive research and innovation infrastructure to support research in the Schools of Culture and Communication, the Social sciences, Law and Management.

We are funded by the UK research councils to train postgraduate researchers and develop research impact. We have developed long-term national and international university collaborations and have invested in strong internal research support structures and support for research integrity. We promote a wide range of postgraduate research and post-doctoral fellowship opportunities.

A range of resources and schemes is available to our researchers, providing them with the support needed to pursue their research objectives.

Our researchers enjoy comprehensive support from schemes including academic allowances and internal funding schemes, as well as many training and development opportunities for researchers at all stages.
