Bloomfield LLP is a specialist commercial and dispute resolution law firm based in Nigeria with several international connections.
Almost a decade ago, the School of Law at Swansea entered into an agreement with Bloomfield to launch an annual Prize and internship opportunity for the best Nigerian LLM student studying at Swansea in the realm of commercial, maritime, tech, IP and oil/gas law.
This year, the Prize goes to Ms Cecilia Jaja. Cecilia is a graduate of Rivers State University and worked in practice for several years before she enrolled on our LLM in Legaltech and Commercial Law. She is expected to complete this course in November 2024.
The Prize was presented to Cecilia by Mr Adedoyin Afun at a ceremony hosted by the Law School at Swansea. Mr Afun, who also holds a Swansea LLM degree, is a partner of the firm and a leading commercial lawyer, both in Nigeria and on the international scene. During the ceremony, Mr Afun praised the legal education offered at Swansea and indicated that Cecilia would be offered an internship at their Lagos office, shadowing several partners.
